- What accounting software do you work in?
- QuickBooks Online is the most common starting point, and Axis can work in whatever system you are already using or help you pick one if you are starting fresh.
- My books are years behind. Is that a problem?
- No — that is one of the most common reasons people call. Catch-up and cleanup is a defined service with its own scope and price, and it happens before monthly work begins.
- Do you file my taxes?
- Axis is a bookkeeping and controllership practice, not a tax preparer. The goal is to hand your CPA a clean, closed set of books so their work is faster, cheaper, and more accurate. If you do not have a CPA yet, we can point you toward one.
- Do we have to meet in person?
- No. Axis is a remote-first practice — secure document sharing, video calls, and cloud accounting mean location is not a constraint.
- What is the difference between a bookkeeper and a fractional controller?
- A bookkeeper records and reconciles what happened. A controller owns the close, reviews the work, builds the reporting, and puts controls in place so the numbers are trustworthy. Fractional means you get that oversight for a few hours a month instead of a salary.
